Lynnwood sprinkler design
Most sprinkler problems start with a bad layout. We design your system around your yard, your plants and your water pressure.
Zones, heads and drip planned before anyone digs, by our own crew out of Lynnwood, so the system works right from day one.

Sprinkler system design is the plan for your irrigation before it goes in the ground: which areas share a zone, which heads or drip lines water them, and where the controller, valves and backflow go. Grizzly designs systems for homes in Lynnwood and across Snohomish and King County, for new installs and for systems that never worked right. We measure your yard and test your water pressure and flow first, so every zone gets enough water.
Every design
Whether it's a new system or a redesign, every plan starts with the same four steps.
We measure your lawn, beds and slopes and note sun and shade, so the plan fits your real yard.
We test your water pressure and flow, then size each zone so every head gets full pressure.
Lawn, beds and shady areas get separate zones, with rotors, sprays or drip matched to each.
A clear layout and price, so the install goes fast and nothing is guessed.
What we design
Lawn, beds and shady areas split into zones that each get what they need.
→ Lawn and beds kept separate → Sun and shade planned → Slopes accounted for
Rotors, sprays and drip matched to each area for even coverage.
→ Matched heads per zone → Even, overlapping coverage → No rotors mixed with sprays
Beds, shrubs, trees and planters watered at the roots, not the leaves.
→ Garden beds and shrubs → Trees and planters → Almost no wasted water
Timers set for Lynnwood's wet springs and dry summers, not a one-size schedule.
→ Controller set per zone → Shown how to use it
Dry spots and soggy corners fixed by fixing the layout, not patching parts.
→ Good pipe and valves reused → Problem zones changed → Less runoff and overspray
Lines and valves laid out so a future patio, bed or play area doesn't mean tearing out the system.
→ Room for new beds → Planned around future patios → Controller and valves placed up front
Is this right for you
A design pays off any time water needs to reach different parts of your yard in different amounts. Here's when it usually helps.
What it means: plan every zone before the first trench, so it works right from day one.
What it means: the layout is usually the cause, not the parts.
What it means: heads aren't matched to the areas they cover, so water is wasted.
What it means: zones may be mixing lawn and beds, so one gets too much water.
What it means: drip would water them at the roots with almost no waste.
What it means: a design leaves room for the system to grow without tearing it out.
Our approach
Dry spots, soggy corners and high water bills usually come from the design, not the parts. Here's the difference planning first makes.
1. Guess at the water pressure 2. Put lawn and beds on the same zones 3. Mix rotors and sprays wherever they fit 4. Place valves and the controller wherever is easy
Result: dry spots, overspray and a system you keep patching.
1. Sketch the lawn, beds, slopes and shade before choosing any parts 2. Test pressure and flow, then size each zone 3. Keep lawn and beds on separate zones and match heads within each one 4. Plan the controller, valve boxes and backflow location up front
Result: even coverage from day one, and a system that can grow with your yard.
Timing
At Paine Field, the closest NOAA weather station to Lynnwood, the first frost arrives around November 17 in a typical year, and by October 31 in about one year in ten. A design can be planned any time of year, but new lines should go in when the ground isn't frozen.
April – September
Dry summers show which areas get too little water and which get too much. Good time for a yard walk.
October
Get the design done, and blow out any existing system so lines are empty before the first frost.
November – March
Lines stay drained. Your install-ready plan is waiting for spring.
Late March – April
The system goes in and we run every zone with you.
Oct 31
First frost in 1 year out of 10
Nov 17
First frost in a typical year
Mar 9
Last spring frost in a typical year

Why Grizzly
01
Yard measurements, pressure and flow are checked on site before we draw a single zone.
02
Lawn and beds stay separate, and heads are matched within each zone.
03
Schedules set for wet springs and dry summers, not a one-size timer.
04
We reuse good pipe and valves and change only the zones that cause problems.
05
Nothing subcontracted. The people who design it are the people who install it.

Once it's in, we run every zone with you and show you the controller.

"… Weeks after installation, I had an issue with one garden area getting oversaturated along with water build up so I called Danny and he came right over that same day and found that there was a faulty valve and he took care of it right away. Grizzly is competitively priced and Danny is very knowledgeable. …"

"… He did a great job and was very thoughtful to not tear up the yard, and cleaned up the sidewalk as well. It turned out very nice! I appreciated the time he spent with me answering questions about my sprinkler system and other landscaping related questions I had. …"

Questions
A design divides your yard into zones based on sun, shade, slope and plant type, so every area gets the right amount of water. Without one, you get dry spots, overspray onto sidewalks and wasted water.
It depends on your water pressure and flow rate. We measure both before designing, then size each zone so every head gets full pressure. Rotors and spray heads should never be mixed on the same zone, because they apply water at different rates.
Your water pressure, flow rate, yard measurements, sun and shade areas, slopes and plant types. We gather all of this during an on-site visit.
Yes. Pipe can be installed through narrow trenches with minimal disruption.
Yes, for garden beds, shrubs and trees. Drip delivers water directly to the roots with almost no waste. Lawns still use rotors or spray heads.
Yes. We reuse good pipe and valves where they still work and change only the zones that cause dry spots or runoff.
Yes. If you're adding a patio, new beds or a play area later, we lay out the lines and valves so the system can grow without tearing out what's already in the ground.
