Puget Sound summers are dry, and the rest of the year is wet with the odd hard freeze. At Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac), the nearest NOAA normals station we use for Woodinville, the first frost arrives around November 23 in a typical year, and by November 6 in about one year in ten. Woodinville Water District also requires backflow assemblies to be tested every year. We plan around these dates and rules from the first visit.
Sprinkler & irrigation
Broken heads, leaking valves, damaged lines and zones that won't turn on. We find the real cause, fix it, and test every zone.
Sprinkler and drip systems designed around your lawn, beds and water pressure, with smart controllers that cut water waste.
Zone layouts built from a water-pressure test and a walk of your yard, so every head covers its area without dry spots or puddles.
Compressed-air blowouts that clear every zone before the first freeze. Book in October to get on the schedule.
Installation, repair and replacement of the backflow preventer that keeps irrigation water out of your drinking water.
French drains, catch basins, downspout lines and regrading that move water away from your house.
Built for Puget Sound weather
Puget Sound summers are dry enough that a lawn goes brown in a few weeks without water, and the rest of the year brings months of rain and the odd hard freeze. A system that isn't set up for both runs too much, too little, or cracks over winter.
Heads spaced too far apart leave dry patches, and zones that run too long leave puddles. We test your water pressure, match each zone to the plants it waters, and set run times for the soil in your yard.

Local rules
A lawn sprinkler system is a cross-connection to your drinking water. Woodinville Water District, which serves the City of Woodinville, runs a cross-connection control program that covers irrigation systems, and we check what your address needs before any work starts.
Woodinville Water District says backflow assemblies need to be tested every year. State rule WAC 246-290-490 requires the test to be done by a WA Department of Health certified Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT).
The district says backflow preventers must meet strict installation requirements and be inspected every year to make sure they work.
Since February 1, 2023, the district requires backflow test reports to be submitted online through its WebTest portal, using a login the district issues to each tester.

Questions
It depends on what failed. A broken head is a small fix, while a failed valve or a cracked main line takes more time and parts. We find the cause first and give you the price before any work starts.
Before the first freeze. At Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac), the nearest NOAA normals station we use for Woodinville, the first frost arrives around November 23 in a typical year, and by November 6 in about one year in ten, so booking in October is safest. Water left in the lines can freeze and crack pipes, valves and the backflow preventer.
Yes. Woodinville Water District says backflow assemblies on irrigation systems need to be tested every year, and state rule requires a WA Department of Health certified Backflow Assembly Tester to do it. The tester submits the report online to the district. If a different water provider serves your address, we check what it requires.
Yes. We repair systems no matter who installed them. If a zone is worth redesigning instead of patching, we tell you before any work starts.
Yes. We design zones around your lawn, beds and water pressure, install the system, and test every zone before we leave. New sprinkler installations come with an 18-month warranty.
In most cases, yes. A smart controller adjusts watering to the weather, so the system skips a cycle after rain and waters more during a dry August. It usually connects to the valves you already have.
Usually it is one of two things: a leaking valve or line that lets water seep out between cycles, or poor drainage that keeps rainwater sitting in the soil. We check the irrigation first, then the grading and drainage, and fix whichever one is the cause.

Yes. We install French drains, catch basins and downspout lines, and regrade areas where water runs toward the house. Planning drainage and irrigation together means the trenches are dug once.
